Why Coaching for Mental Health should be a priority

In today’s world, mental health challenges are extensive and are often linked to other pressures, physical or health challenges, affecting individuals across all walks of life. Amongst the complexities of social care services and the NHS, many individuals find themselves navigating through the labyrinth of bureaucracy, often feeling lost, stuck and overwhelmed. This inevitability causes more frustrations, stress and disruption to daily life, relationships and security, and as a result can be counter productive, more costly, and create more dependence on services.

Coaching Mental Health

As a mental health and wellbeing coach and trainer, we priorities a unique opportunity to empower individuals within the comfort of their own homes, providing them with the tools and support they need to THRIVE. We work alongside the NHS, GP’s, Health Professionals, Social Care and Organisations to support people at home with mental health challenges. We work towards creating autonomy, a healthier and more fulfilling life, provide stills to overcome obstacles, and experience personal growth.

Coaching mental health is not just a temporary fix; it is an investment in a lifetime of well-being and self development. We believe that many people often lack the skills, knowledge and professional belief and accountability to move on in life, embrace change, except and overcome challenges, and navigate life's twists and turns, with confidence and ease.

Here’s how THRIVE Coaching Mental Health at home supports the NHS, GP’s, Health Professionals, Social Care and Organisations;

Referrals: Referrals are simple, friendly and non-judgmental. We want people to feel supported and cared for from the onset by providing an initial assessment process to discover if our coaching service is a suitable match. Funding for this 1 year subscription can be either self funded by individuals, part funded or fully funded by services if eligible. To powerfully assist clients, we offer a 1-year subscription with a possible extension for a second year, only if needed, to prevent service dependency.

Creating a Safe Space: Our home environment provides a foundation to change and is often considered a sanctuary, and if not our coaches help clients to transform it into a safe space for exploration and healing. By fostering a non-judgmental and compassionate environment, individuals can feel comfortable opening up about their struggles and work towards positive solutions.

Bespoke Support: Unlike traditional mental health services that may be constrained by time and resources, coaching offers a personalised approach. You can tailor your support to meet the specific needs and goals of each individual, whether it’s managing anxiety, building resilience, improving self-esteem, navigating life's challenges, relationships, career, or optimal health and wellbeing.

Empowering Self-Discovery: Many clients within health and social care services and organisations may feel disempowered by their circumstances. Through coaching, we can empower them to take control of their own mental health journey, guiding them towards self-discovery and personal growth.

Practical Strategies and skills: While therapy often focuses on exploring past traumas and emotions, coaching places a strong emphasis on practical strategies and actionable steps, so that our past doesn’t negatively affect our future. Whether it’s implementing mindfulness techniques, setting boundaries, or practicing self-care, coaching can equip individuals with the tools they need to navigate through challenges effectively.

Building Resilience: The road to recovery is rarely linear, and setbacks are inevitable. We believe that at some point in our lives, we all experience varying degrees of trauma and a rainbow of emotions, which can leave us feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to navigate life and our well-being. As a coach, we help individuals build resilience and develop coping mechanisms to overcome obstacles and stay committed to their goals.

Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals: While coaching can be a valuable complement to traditional mental health services, it’s essential to collaborate with healthcare professionals when necessary. By working in tandem with social care services, the NHS and other organisations, we ensure that individuals receive holistic support that addresses their unique needs.

Advocacy and Empowerment: Beyond providing direct support, coaches have the opportunity to advocate for systemic changes within social care services and the NHS. By raising awareness about the importance of mental health coaching and promoting access to such services, together we can help create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all individuals.
